Blake Saunders

I see the world through obstacles and challenges, and even when I fail at them, they often teach me how to become a better person. I’m from the small wonder state of Delaware, but my dreams and goals are as large as the WORLD. I am a Writer, Entrepreneur and Small Business owner of Front Street Video production & Photography. I grew up as an inner city kid and was raised by the Boy’s & Girl’s Club, and I believe there is where I learned the great value in helping people who just need a push in the right direction. Frequently Asked Questions

Who is invited?

All Delaware High School student leaders are welcome to attend. We are focusing on some tough topics, so the Summit is focused on high school students; however, mature 7th and 8th graders can attend.

Will this be fun?

Yes! We are going to have a lot of fun sprinkled throughout the learning. There will be a DJ and special guest performers throughout the Summit.

Who is the keynote speaker?

Blake Saunders is the keynote speaker. He is a local Delawarean and an awesome speaker. You can check out his website at blakethebrain.com.

How much does it cost to attend?

The event is absolutely free. Thanks to the Delaware Department of Education, there is no cost for students to attend.

Will there be food?

Yes, we’re serving Chick-Fil-A for lunch. Don’t worry; there will be some vegetarian options too.

What do I wear?

You can dress casual. Jeans & sneakers are acceptable. The only rule is don’t wear anything with inappropriate language.

Can I invite friends?

Yes—all students interested in leadership at school can attend. You don’t have to identify as a student leader, and you don’t have to lead a student organization at your school. You do have to be interested in leadership, attending a Delaware high school, and ready to learn.

I live in New Castle or Sussex County? Is there transportation?

Yes. We have buses coming from New Castle County and Sussex County. Sign up for bus information when you register so we can get you set up.

I have questions about transportation. Who do I call?

Contact Tierra Fair at tfair@uwde.org or call 302-494-5442 if you have questions.

Are there any volunteer opportunities?

We are actively looking for trusted adults (21 and over) to help us out the day of the summit. If you or someone you know is interested in volunteering to help out during the event, please click here to learn more and sign up.
