New Jersey 211 (NJ211) and United Way of Delaware serving Salem County, New Jersey, celebrate National 211 Day on February 11, 2025. 211 is a national service that connects people in need to assistance, including help with rent, food, utility bills, and health care. Over 200 agencies nationwide provide 211 services, assisting millions of people each year. In New Jersey, New Jersey 211 provides 211 services statewide.

According to the latest 211 Impact Survey Data, 211 triaged over 20 million requests nationwide. In 2024, 211 responded to more than 320,000 live contacts in New Jersey and assisted over 230,000 people in New Jersey communities in accessing help for immediate or long-term challenges. 211 was established in 2000 by the Federal Communications Commission as a three-digit number for accessing information and referral services related to health, human, and social organizations. Since then, it has grown into a vital resource for help and hope in communities across North America.

  • Call, text, or chat with NJ211 if they or someone they know needs assistance.
  • Share the 211 service with neighbors, family, and friends to help others connect to critical support.
