Tocqueville Society

United Way of Delaware Tocqueville Society Library

Tocqueville Society members are our most generous and community-minded contributors. They are philanthropic leaders, creating sustainable change with generous financial gifts, tackling the most pressing problems.

Named after Alexis de Tocqueville, the Society takes action for the common good. They embody the spirit of the 19th-century French thinker’s political and historical works. Promoting volunteerism and active engagement throughout the community.

Through theses engagement opportunities, The United Way of Delaware Tocqueville increases awareness of the issues affecting our children and families. But we don’t stop there. Together, we work to find solutions to these problems, and make positive change.

The truth is, our United Way could not do its work without the outstanding generosity, leadership, and vision of our Tocqueville Society members. Every gift helps us build more vibrant communities in Delaware and Salem County, NJ. And every dollar supports our neighbors in urgent situations at the same time.

To be recognized as Tocqueville Society members, donors give an annual amount of $10,000 or more to United Way of Delaware. Local members also become members of United Way Worldwide’s Tocqueville United automatically.
