United Way of Delaware and Delmarva Power Unite to Help Delawareans Offset Rising Utility Costs
Eligible customers may receive up to $500 in utility bill assistance; applications open March 9.
Wilmington, DE (March 9, 2026). United Way of Delaware (UWDE) today announced the launch of a new round of funding for utility relief through the Delaware Delmarva Power Customer Relief Fund, a program that provides direct utility bill assistance to limited- and moderate-income Delmarva Power residential customers in Delaware. The program is funded by a generous grant from Exelon, Delmarva Power’s parent company, and this latest round of funding is administered by UWDE.
The fund will provide up to $500 in assistance for dual-service households and up to $300 for single-service households. Applications open March 9, 2026, and will remain available until funds are exhausted.
As many Delaware families continue to face financial strain from rising energy costs, this program aims to help households maintain essential electric service and avoid service disruptions.
“Rising energy costs are putting real pressure on Delaware families and forcing difficult financial decisions,” said Michelle A. Taylor, President and CEO of United Way of Delaware. “The Delaware Delmarva Power Customer Relief Fund provides timely support so households can maintain reliable electric service and focus on their stability and well-being. We are proud to partner with Delmarva Power to help connect Delawareans to the assistance they need.”
