Wilmington, DE- (December 6, 2022)- United Way of Delaware (UWDE) has come together with community partners and organizations across the state for the second annual Winter Wonderland Holiday Coat and Toy Drive/Distribution. Our original goal was 1,000 coats but there has been such a high demand that we are now aiming for 1,500 coats for our most vulnerable children in Delaware. UWDE is in need of contributions today to meet the needs of children in need.

Through UWDE’s Delaware 211 helpline, Tierra Fair, Vice President of Engagement and Partnerships said, “we received an overwhelming response of over 1200 children in need of a warm winter coat. With our partners we have worked hard to collect new coats and funding to purchase them, but we are still about 300 short!” Donations are needed immediately to help meet the need.

“We know the importance of making sure kids and families can have their basic needs met. The Winter Wonderland event not only provides a coat and toy for kids during the holiday season, but it also gives parents an opportunity to connect with various community organizations and obtain resources that will help ease the heavy lift of the holiday,” said Deborah Reeves, Senior Director, Engagement and Partnerships.

Every donation up to $500 will be matched. You donation today will help make this holiday season memorable for your neighbors in need.
