United Way of Delaware’s Director of Philanthropy, the Rev. Dr. John G. Moore Sr., will headline a program to celebrate the upcoming birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 13, at the Milford Public Library. The Rev. Dr. Moore will focus on King’s life from his youth in Georgia to his years as the leader of the civil rights movement, his acceptance of the Nobel Peace Prize, and his tragic assassination in Memphis, TN. Moore will also re-enact three of King’s most famous speeches, “We Shall Overcome,” “I Have a Dream,” and his final speech, “I’ve Been to the Mountaintop,” presented the night before his assassination.
