National Do Something Nice Day

Thank you to the corporations, businesses, community members, and leaders who supported our National Do Something Nice Day Snack Drive at the New Castle County Hope Center.

The Hope Center, located at the former Sheraton Hotel in New Castle, houses over 200 local families experiencing homelessness. The county-run operation allows residents to receive many of the services they need in one location.

During the event, donors either purchased snacks and had them delivered, or drove by to make their donations in person. The generosity of the community was abundantly clear, as other supplies such as books, personal hygiene items, and diapers poured in as well.

If you or someone you know is struggling with homelessness, we want you to know that help is close by. To get immediate assistance please contact Delaware 211 or any of the Delaware State Service Centers. Delaware 211 is the state’s 24-hour emergency resource center. Visit their website at delaware211.org or call 2-1-1 from any phone or mobile device.
